What Am I Thankful For?

This was originally the prep for a post that @BuzzEdition made about a week ago or less, http://www.bitrebels.com/lifestyle/what-are-you-thankful-for/ <

Basically Susan came to me and asked me like she did the others, what was I most grateful for. Being the overachiever that I am (#hrhr) and realizing that there was more than one facet in my life in which I was grateful, I decided to break it up into the following.

It's nice if you can relate :)

------

Spiritual
------------

  1. I am grateful for the universe, for without it the world as we know could not exist.
  2. I am grateful for love, for without it our actions would hold no meaning.
  3. I am grateful for my life, for without it I would not be here to experience that love.
  4. I am grateful for you, for without you I would not be able to share the love I experience.

Physical
-------------

  1. I am grateful for mortality - it teaches us to cherish life in all its fragility and work to experience the best of that which we are capable.
  2. I am grateful for the body that is my vehicle of expression.
  3. I am grateful for nature, in all its wisdom, that nurtures, guides and teaches us about synergy and communion.
  4. I am grateful for my times of poor health, that feed the reason to live a life of abundant health so as to flourish as nature intended.

Psychological
-------------------

  1. I am grateful for failure, for without it I would have not tasted the beauty of success.
  2. I am grateful for suffering, for without it we would not know the serenity that comes before and after the fact.
  3. I am grateful for empathy - a precursor to endless, wonderful acts of kindness.
  4. I am grateful for the endeavor to grow and contribute more. The recognition that we are all intrinsically connected - that we are all indeed, the same life.

Green Juice Recipe (serves 2)

Hey guys, a lot of you including the very talented @tracitoguchi, have been asking about what goes into my infamous green juice.

It's very simple. Here's the recipe and directions. You'll need:

  • 1/2 large cucumber
  • 1/3 large pineapple (not extra large!)
  • 2 apples (any type - I prefer Fuji or Braeburn)
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 large handful spinach
  • 1 large handful kale
  • 1 skinned lime/lemon
  • 1 handful ice
Directions:

Juice all the ingredients except the avocado and ice, then throw the juice into a blender with the avocado and ice.

Serve immediately and most of all, enjoy...

Why Extreme Makeover Home Edition Rocks.

OK I don't normally watch TV because of all the paralysis that comes with it, but if there is one show that I would choose above the few that I enjoy, it would be this:

So basically, people send their video sob stories into the show and they then decide which person most needs the new home treatment.

Sometimes it's people with rare disease struck down at an early age, and other times it's people who adopt kid after kid leaving them in extreme financial hardship.

I guess I'll just get to the point.

The following reasons are why this series absolutely brings me alive:

  1. It shows the horrors that we are willing to endure in times of selflessness or injustice
  2. It shows how humble and appreciative we can be when given life-changing news
  3. It shows our capacity to unite and work together towards a good cause
  4. It shows the capacity to which we can love each other and the goodness that comes from it
I guess there will be those of you that will nitpick this show and ask questions like "what happens after the home is built and they have to maintain it", "what happens to the other sob stories that didn't get chosen" and so on.

However, it's not even about that, but about the fact that if a show like this can touch the hearts of so many simply because of the boundless demonstration of love to a complete stranger, then think of the repercussions of engaging in our own Extreme Makeovers with people we interact with on a daily basis?
